RiseHyre's Story
RiseHyre was founded by Scott Green, an Orange County entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and philanthropist who was inspired to create employment opportunities for people who are experiencing significant barriers to entry into the job market.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic was causing increased unemployment, disproportionately among marginalized populations.
Scott’s vision was to create a nonprofit events company that trains people from underserved communities, while also providing valuable event services to other nonprofits and organizations.
The company was launched in October 2020 with the goal of starting locally and expanding nationally to provide job skills and life skills training to thousands of people in need of sustainable employment.

Employing Underserved Populations
RiseHyre’s mission is to provide job training and generate employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment, including the formerly incarcerated, foster youth, unhoused, and domestic abuse survivors.
In the United States:

Formerly incarcerated individuals are unemployed at a rate of 27%.(1)

Youth that age out of the foster system have an unemployment rate of 47% - 69%, depending on age and gender. (2)

In Orange County, where homelessness remains a critical issue, increasing employment through targeted skill development can contribute to a more stable and prosperous community.
Through our up to 12-month workforce training program, attendees learn life and business skills, vocational training in hospitality, event management, and marketing, or they may choose to transfer to a partner organization to learn trade skills.
RiseHyre’s programs include personal and professional development, exposure to a professional environment, and job placement services.

Workforce Development Program
Job Training for the Underserved in Orange County
Partnering with CalOptima and other nonprofits, RiseHyre’s Workforce Development Program trains underserved individuals in life, work, and vocational skills, so they can achieve sustained employment in a professional career.
