Mission
Employing an Underserved Population
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in increased unemployment, disproportionately among marginalized and underserved populations. Oscar & Ma’s goal is to create a workplace where people who need job opportunities can receive on-the-job training and experience in a professional field.
Working with other non-profit partners, Oscar & Ma generates apprentice-like opportunities for people with barriers to employment, including the formerly incarcerated, foster youth, homeless, and survivors of domestic violence, teaching skills and providing a pathway to future employment.

Last year brought along many challenges and obstacles as it was a VERY unique year for events and event planning. When we went to brainstorm what we could possibly provide as an alternative for our annual holiday event, we came up with “Zoom with Santa” in hopes to continue the traditional Santa Claus meet and greets for our residents.
We quickly called Oscar & Ma with the idea, and they helped bring our virtual, social distance-friendly event to light. From start to finish, they were hands-on, communicative, and an absolute delight to work with! We received rave reviews from the new event and are now working with them on future virtual event ideas for our community.
